Legendary and Mythical Pokémon list

What Are Legendary Pokémon?

Legendary Pokémon are a special category of Pokémon that are particularly rare, powerful, and unique. They are typically only found in certain areas of the Pokémon world, and are often associated with legendary stories or myths within the game's lore.

While many people group segments of Legendary Pokémon together, there are in fact three categories of Legendary Pokémon within the game. These help determine how and when a Legendary Pokémon is used and its appearance.

Legendary Pokémon

Legendary Pokémon are a more specific subset of this group, and are typically the most powerful and iconic creatures in the Pokémon games. They often adorn the covers of the games and have become integral to the lore and mythology of the franchise. Their high base stats and unique abilities make them formidable opponents in battle, and they are often restricted from competitive play in order to maintain balance and fairness.

Mythical Pokémon

Unlike Legendary Pokémon, which can sometimes be encountered and caught through certain in-game events or battles, Mythical Pokémon are typically only available through special distributions or events that take place outside of the game itself. This has made them some of the rarest and most highly sought-after Pokémon among collectors and players.

Sub-Legendary Pokémon

Sub-Legendary Pokémon are a group of Pokémon that are not quite as rare or powerful as Legendary or Mythical Pokémon, but are still notable for their strength and unique characteristics. They are typically quite rare within the game world, but are not subject to the same restrictions or limited availability as Legendary and Mythical Pokémon.
